The Mayo Emerging Business Pitch Competition

To celebrate 10 years of the Mayo Business Awards, this special once off competition has an incredible prize fund of €30,000 to be divided between a maximum of three businesses.

If you’re an innovative start up or early-stage business, this is perfect for you.
It is designed to spotlight and support innovative businesses that are tackling real-world challenges. Open to all sectors, this competition seeks to identify and empower businesses with the potential to make a demonstrable impact, whether that be social, environmental, economic, or technological.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome applications from startups and early-stage businesses that could significantly benefit from financial support at the early stages of their business journey. While all business types are eligible, we are particularly interested in those that:

Are demonstrating innovation in product, service, or delivery.

Are addressing a pressing societal or environmental challenge.

Have a clear plan for sustainable growth and measurable impact.

Call for Entries

Open call to interested Mayo-based businesses

Submit Your Application

Invited to submit a short (max 4 page) document outlining the problem being solved by the business, the target market and the product’s competitive advantages. Applicants may also submit a 1-3 min video introducing the business and hoped for impact.

Celebrate the Winners

Winners will be announced at the Mayo Business Awards on Friday 7^th November

The Pitch

Shortlisted entrants will be invited to make a pitch to the Judging Panel. These businesses will be invited to present a compelling pitch that includes.

Win Your Share of €30,000

The prize fund of €30,000 will be divided between the businesses which, in the judges’ opinion, offer the greatest potential. It is intended that the prize would support the development or expansion of the business and must be used in a way that directly contributes to the business’s impact and growth.
